Commitment to sustainability

We at BRAINSUM believe that raising effectiveness can be done hand in hand with carbon footprint reduction. Our approach to minimizing the impact on the environment is implemented via:

• Remote work, including online meetings and workshops in client communication. We are a fully remote company. Nobody is mandated to go to the office, only occasional gatherings are organized in our HQ.
• Green hosting. We propose, recommend, and use for our own infrastructure hosting providers and data centers running on renewable energy. We suggest and promote green, or at least carbon-neutral web hosting or cloud providers and are proud that we convinced some of our large clients to migrate to 100% green data centers.
• The use of public transportation is promoted within the company. The train is the preferred method supported and financed when employees have to travel.
• We encourage energy-efficient practices: we encourage our employees to use energy-efficient devices and adopt eco-friendly habits, such as turning off devices when not in use or using power-saving modes.
• Last but not least we are enthusiastic about writing efficient code and creating fast, efficient websites and web applications. Performance is a UX benefit for the users, and at the same time it has a large impact on energy consumption both on the server side and on the client devices where the websites are rendered. This is one of the reasons why we constantly improve our best practices and monitor the performance of the websites and web applications we deliver and maintain.
